- The BIMG Think Tank, also known as the BIMG Institute, was officially announced at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) on August 11, 2018 at the Global Media Block Summit (G25T). At the meeting, the BIMG Institute, the chairman of the BIMG Institute academic committee, Li Zhijie, the chief scientist of IBM, and the head of LA blockchain lab, Yiwen Li, together unveiled the BIMG Institute. Based on the operational characteristics of blockchain technology, BIMG Institute will conduct research on data security, technical security, and scenario application, and cooperate with relevant departments to promote the improvement of relevant laws and regulations, prevent and reduce potential risks or negative effects to the new technology development, allowing a good healthy environment for the development of the blockchain industry. At the same time, BIMG Institute aims to develop blockchain services and promote the development of the real economy, strengthen the integration of industry, academic and research, promote the integration of blockchain technology, and accelerate the breakthrough of application bottlenecks.
